BOCA DRUIF by STEVE FRANCEES
One of the most photographed images of Aruba is the remains of an old pier of the “Arend(Eagle) Petroleum Maatschappij” started operations in 1928.
The Refinery was part of the Royal Shell Group and was very successful but during WW2 they stop all their activities for safety reasons but after the war decided to stop completely and dismantle the refinery but the last pier can be seen till today as the Pelican Poles.
